Changing a bed cover, such as a duvet cover or fitted sheet, can be simple once you know the steps. Here’s a guide on how to do it efficiently:

1. Remove the Old Bed Cover

  • Duvet or Comforter: If you’re changing a duvet cover, unbutton or unzip the cover and remove the duvet or comforter from inside.
  • Fitted Sheet and Pillowcases: Remove the pillowcases and fitted sheet from the bed.

2. Prepare the New Bed Cover

  • Turn Inside Out (For Duvet Covers): Turn the new duvet cover inside out. This will make it easier to insert the duvet.
  • Lay Flat: Lay the duvet cover flat on the bed, with the opening at the bottom of the bed.
  • Knotting edges: To keep bed sheet tight, you may want to knot all the 4 edges of the sheet, which will keep the bed sheet stretch all the time and keep them on wrinkle all times.

3. Insert the Duvet (For Duvet Covers)

  • Align the Corners: Place the duvet or comforter on top of the inside-out duvet cover. Align the top corners of the duvet with the top corners of the cover.
  • Use the Burrito Method (Optional): Roll both the duvet and cover together, starting from the closed end. Once rolled, flip the cover opening over the duvet, then unroll it. This method helps make the process smoother.
  • Secure the Corners: If your duvet cover has corner ties, secure them to the duvet to keep it in place.

4. Flip and Adjust the Duvet Cover

  • Flip Right Side Out: Once the duvet is inside, grab the top corners and flip the duvet cover right side out. Shake it a bit to help the duvet settle evenly inside the cover.
  • Button or Zip Up: Once everything is aligned, close the cover using the buttons, zipper, or ties.

5. Put on the Fitted Sheet

  • Align the Corners: Lay the fitted sheet on the mattress, and align the corners of the sheet with the corners of the mattress.
  • Tuck in the Corners: Start with one corner, tucking it under the mattress. Move to the opposite corner and repeat. Then do the same for the other two corners.
  • Smooth Out the Sheet: Once all corners are tucked in, smooth out the sheet to ensure it’s flat and wrinkle-free.

6. Add Pillowcases

  • Turn Inside Out (For Easier Application): Turn the pillowcase inside out, place your hands inside to hold the corners, then grab the pillow by the corners and pull the case over it. This method helps fit the pillow inside more easily.
  • Smooth and Adjust: Adjust the pillow inside the case and smooth out any wrinkles.

7. Finish the Bed

  • Add Extra Layers: If you use a flat sheet, place it on the bed, ensuring the top edge is even with the top of the mattress. Tuck the sides and bottom under the mattress.
  • Final Touches: Arrange the duvet or comforter on top of the bed, smooth it out, and add pillows or decorative cushions as desired.

Tips:

  • Change Regularly: Change your bed cover and sheets at least once a week for hygiene.
  • Shake Duvet: Once the cover is on, give the duvet a good shake to make sure it’s evenly distributed inside the cover.
  • Use a Matching Set: If you have a matching sheet set, use it to give your bed a coordinated and polished look.

Following these steps will make changing your bed cover a quick and easy process.
